Before I begin, let me first add a disclaimer. I’ve found fault with all organized religion, not just this particular conviction.
I’ve been following the story of the Texas Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Polygamist Compound raid very closely. (Now ain’t that a friggin’ mouth full?) As a trained social worker the way this is being handled has me very concerned. The children of this sect know no other way of life and are certainly experiencing some very real anxiety, along with a major case of culture shock. They’ve been ripped from the only life they’ve ever known and thrust into a world they’ve been taught to fear. Torn from the arms of their families they’ve been herded like cattle from the compound to temporary shelters, interrogated like criminals, and are now being forced to submit to DNA testing to determine their paternity. I realize this is something that needs to be done, but also know this is going to add to the scars these little people will bear for life.
The women of this sect have my concern as well. I’m sure many of them have been brain washed into believing it is okay for their daughters to be married off at 13, or 14, or whatever age they happen to be when some dirty old man decides to take them for their very own little sex slaves. Often to their own male family members. Just as they’ve been convinced they must share their husband with other woman in the name of marriage. I mean they’ve been told it’s the Will of God, right? It’s abuse, pure and simple. Unfortunately we can’t force them to leave the sect like we can the children. So they will continue to breed more babies for these pedophiles to perpetrate their deviant and disgusting sexual molestations upon.
And the so called men of this sect? Claiming ignorance of the law is not just cause for exoneration. Using God and religion as an excuse to be pedophiles and incestuous beasts is a crime beyond what our society can justly bestow proper punishment. I believe they should all be taken out and shot for the liars and pervert they are! But knowing this won’t happen in most cases I’ll be satisfied with the thought of eternal damnation! And burn in Hell they will!

I’ve caught bits and pieces of this story, but I’ve made a conscious choice not to follow it in depth. Some things are too difficult to watch. In this case, I have the luxury of being able to close my eyes and just pray.

Some of the topics I have in mind for this venue just don’t belong on Dusty’s Daily Dose of Insanity. And since you don’t follow social issues in the news I didn’t think we’d be covering too much of the same material! Lol!

Well Ugly Ass Opinion is a unique Blog and I couldn’t replicate it even if I wanted to, but it was part of the inspiration behind Giftedly Outspoken! That and the hope that if I write about the social injustices that piss me off the most I’ll be able to keep my mouth shut at work!

Hmmmm. This thing keeps eating my replies. Methinks you have it set for no URLs. Do a quickie search–there are updates on this story. Most of the 14-17 yr old girls are or have been pregnant. In a word, Ewww.
